It snowed on and off all day yesterday and by bedtime there was a couple of inches of snow on the ground. Definitely too cold in the morning to have an egg hunt so Alycia, Shaylyn, the kids and I went to Logan to see "How To Train your Dragon." It was a very good movie and a fun and warm way to spend the afternoon. Later in the afternoon the sun came out and melted the snow off the valley, but it was still very cold.
The kids still wanted to hunt eggs so they bundled up. Randy had just fertilized our lawn so the Easter Bunny hid the eggs in Shaylyn's yard, which made them much easier and faster to find in the cold. Every child had a cough, a runny nose, swollen glands or a recent fever.
Kasen had just barely woken up and wasn't in the mood to hunt for long, so he was satisfied with a few eggs.
Jackson's method is to find an egg and stop to eat the contents before moving on.
Naturally Dixon is the most experienced with the best technique, so he was able to find the most eggs.
Cooper liked the running around. To him everything is a race and he wants to win.
Kennedy was too tired to care about hunting eggs so the Easter Bunny put some on the bed for her to find when she woke up. Shane and Alycia got an offer on their house yesterday and they signed the papers this morning. This is what we have been praying for and Randy and I have painted the most positive picture we possibly can to encourage them in this move, but we have been so spoiled in having our little family so close to us. I will miss my Thursday Grandma time and the weekend parties terribly. But they need to be together as a family even more, so we will do everything we can to pack them up and get them moved in the next three weeks and to sing the praises of Vernal with a smile on our faces.
